Control Room Operator
Location: Sanford, Texas
Full Time / Shift Work Schedule
Starting Hourly Rate: $25.65

QUALIFICATIONS​

Any combination of education or experience that would likely provide the necessary knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Water Technology education is desirable

Graduation from high school or equivalent

Possession of a valid Texas driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority's Vehicle Insurance Policy

RESPONSIBILITIES (Please review job description for the essential job functions)

​Operates the water distribution system and wellfield by anticipating flow demands, calculating pumping and intake flow rates and daily operational changes
-
Monitors the functioning of wells, valves, pumps, and other equipment within the limits set by general operating procedures
-
Analyzes SCADA system data and investigates alarms or abnormal conditions; dispatches the appropriate personnel when needed

Monitors systems for emergency and/or scheduled shutdowns

Monitors access to field facilities by Authority staff

Makes mathematical calculations of water quantity stored in reservoirs and flows in and out of pumping facilities

Monitors security of the Sanford Dam, Authority Headquarters building and surrounding facilities

Operates radio and telephone to transmit, receive, notify, and clarify information between crews and vendors

Reads and interprets meters and charts

Performs record keeping functions such as maintaining electronic records of daily operations, unusual operating conditions; prepares reports and maintains files; collects and enters data into computer system

Notifies member cities of changes in flow and pressure affecting them

Communicates and dispatches fire department, ambulance service and police department when needed

Operates copiers and a variety of office equipment. Answers incoming calls when staff is unavailable during normal business hours, holidays and weekends

Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers and outside agencies
