Low Level Pumping

Key Features of how the operation would work

  • The portable pumping unit(s), powered by electricity engines, would be located near the intake tower on the face of the Dam.
  • During low demand periods 1 pumping unit will be sufficient.  During higher demand periods a second unit will be needed.
  • Steel piping into the Intake Tower (second level gates – 55 feet).
  • Instrumentation to control the unit(s) from headquarters.
  • The pumping unit(s) will be designed to match the rate of 1 or 2 pumps at Pumping Plant 1.
